Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant to the Dean, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) is responsible for managing office operations and providing extensive assistance to the Dean and Associate Dean in support of faculty, programs, and students of twenty-one programs within CHASS. The Office of the Dean is a fast-paced work environment that practices hospitality to its constituents and maintains a respectful, positive, and productive work environment. The Administrative Assistant to the Dean reports directly to the Dean of CHASS.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced academic administrative environment; excellent time management, organizational, and planning/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work constructively in a collaborative environment demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Proactive self-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively interact with a variety of constituents in a positive, friendly, helpful way.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both in-person and phone.
- Ability to utilize and maintain office equipment (fax, copier, printer, scanner) within the Office of the Dean and respective faculty offices.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent word processing skills; proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and other English-language skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Work Experience
Three (3) years of experience in administrative office support in a complex office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Administrative support experience in a higher-education environment.
- Knowledge of Canvas CMS and SCT Banner (Oracle-based, internet-native technology solution) for the higher education community.
- Experience in Microsoft Teams.
- Fluency in Spanish language.
- Proficient with social media and webpage editing.

Work Hours
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends based on College needs.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs of office files and supplies and/or tables for event set-up.
- Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve office/event materials.
